In our ANTI-HYPERPIGMENTATION SERUM, we use a natural, highly active ingredient called BRIGHT Oléoactif®. It contains extracts from the marsh mallow and licorice root. Marsh mallow is a member of the Malvaceae family. Alongside the root, the leaves and seeds were used for healing in Antiquity. Licorice is a plant in the bean family Fabaceae. Licorice, the candy, contains licorice flavor extracted from the licorice root. In Chinese teachings about juice, licorice root is categorized as a general, harmonizing herbal medicine (sweet taste and balancing effect on the body temperature). These properties are used to counteract skin trauma and inhibit melanin production.
In the pigmentation process, UV radiation, for example, stimulates the skin cells to trigger its melanocytes* to produce melanin. The melanin pigment in the melanocytes* colors the skin cells. This is where BRIGHT Oleoactif® comes in – right in the skin cells. The transmitter that is responsible for coloring the skin is inhibited.
*The melanocytes are located between the basal cells of the skin in the bottom layer of the epidermis. This cell type forms melanin, a skin pigment, which is responsible for the skin’s individual color.

It’s completely free of fragrances, colorings and preservatives, so is also tolerated by people who are allergic to fragrances.
