  • AQUA [WATER]
    • Spring water or thermal water. Water from the Bunter sandstone strata of the Northern Black Forest. Transported from our own wells drilled at a depth of 165 m. Unchlorinated and naturally pure. For moisturizing the skin’s surface and as a solvent for water-soluble active substances and botanical extracts. In ProBalance, REGENERATION E and Ectoin Anti-Aging Fluid, we use the mineral-rich thermal water from Bad Wildbad instead of spring water.
  • DODECANE
    • A fatty acid ester. A very light oil component of plant origin that offers excellent spreadability and does not leave the skin feeling greasy.
  • SQUALANE
    • Squalane. An oil component of plant origin similar to the squalene in the skin and therefore particularly well absorbed. Makes the skin feel soft, silky, but not greasy, and is very skin-compatible.
  • OLIVE OIL POLYGLYCERYL-6 ESTERS
    • An emulsifier derived from olives.
  • HEPTYL UNDECYLENATE
    • A fatty acid ester. A very light oil component of plant origin that offers excellent spreadability and does not leave the skin feeling greasy.
  • GLYCERIN
    • Glycerin. A component of all fats and oils. Glycerin has a moisturizing effect. For BÖRLIND, it is derived solely from vegetable oil.
  • POLYGLYCERYL-6 PENTAOLEATE
    • An emulsifier derived from olives.
  • CAPRYLYL CAPRYLATE/CAPRATE
    • A fatty acid ester. A very light oil component of plant origin that offers good spreadability and does not leave the skin feeling greasy.
  • SORBITOL
    • Sorbitol. A natural sugar alcohol of plant origin that occurs naturally in many fruits. Also used in foodstuffs. Has a moisturizing and moisture-retaining effect.
  • OCTYLDODECANOL
    • A fatty alcohol. An oily substance that cares for the skin, offers good spreadability, and does not leave behind an unpleasant oily film.
  • DISTEARDIMONIUM HECTORITE
    • A thickening agent/auxiliary substance. A thickening and stabilizing agent for emulsions, derived from the clay mineral “hectorite”.
  • SODIUM CHLORIDE
    • Sodium chloride/table salt. Deployed in cosmetics as an auxiliary substance to thicken surfactant products, such as shampoos and shower gels, for example.
  • SILICA
    • Silicon dioxide/silica sand/silicic acid. Used as an auxiliary substance in a great variety of cosmetic products: as a carrier for color pigments in color cosmetics, as an anti-caking agent in powders, and as a thickener in oily products and masks.
  • PHENOXYETHANOL
    • Phenoxyethanol. A nature-identical preservative. It occurs naturally in green tea and chicory.
  • SODIUM POTASSIUM ALUMINUM SILICATE
    • Nepheline. A natural mineral very similar to quartz. Used in color cosmetics to optically reduce wrinkle depth through diffusion of light.
  • TALC
    • Powdered talc/talcum. A natural mineral with a slightly oily character. It serves as a raw material for powders due to its good adhesive properties. For BÖRLIND, only asbestos-free talcum is used.
  • ZINC OXIDE
    • Zinc oxide. A natural mineral with anti-inflammatory, astringent and antimicrobial properties. It also alleviates irritation. In concealing products, it offers high coverage and reflects UV radiation. At BÖRLIND, it is not used as a nanomaterial.
  • ZINC SULFATE
    • Zinc sulfate. Stabilizes emulsions.
  • CYCLODEXTRIN
    • Cyclodextrin. A ring-shaped sugar molecule produced from plant starch by means of enzymatic conversion. Able to absorb oils and similar substances, e.g. excess skin sebum, and so has a mattifying effect. Can also be used as a carrier for active ingredients.
  • RIBES NIGRUM SEED OIL [BLACK CURRANT]
    • Blackcurrant seed oil. An oil from the seeds of the blackcurrant. It is rich in unsaturated fatty acids and cares for, regenerates and protects the skin. With its anti-inflammatory properties, it is ideal for sensitive skin.
  • HYDROGENATED LECITHIN
    • Hydrogenated lecithin. Obtained from soy lecithin. Cares for the skin and stabilizes emulsions.
  • HYDROGENATED CASTOR OIL
    • Castor wax/hydrogenated castor oil. A thickening agent. A vegan alternative to beeswax.
  • MAGNESIUM STEARATE
    • Magnesium stearate. Plant stearic acid and magnesium. Stabilizes ant thickens emulsions. Improves adhesion of pressed powder.
  • ETHYLHEXYLGLYCERIN
    • Ethylhexylglycerin. A care substance of plant origin with antimicrobial and deodorizing qualities.
  • HELIANTHUS ANNUUS SEED OIL UNSAPONIFIABLES
    • A concentrate from organic sunflower oil. Particularly high in unsaponifiable lipids (including phytosterols, tocopherol and essential fatty acids), it contributes to maintaining the epidermal barrier and to soothing a disturbed skin barrier.
  • TOCOPHEROL
    • Vitamin E. Can be found in many vegetable oils. As an antioxidant it prevents these from becoming rancid. It also stabilizes cosmetics and protects the skin against free radicals induced by UV radiation, for example, thus forestalling premature, environment-related skin aging.
  • CARDIOSPERMUM HALICACABUM FLOWER/LEAF/VINE EXTRACT
    • Balloon vine extract. The extract from the tropical climber is rich in phytosterols, flavonoids, saponins and tannins. Has a skin-soothing and anti-inflammatory effect.
  • HELIANTHUS ANNUUS SEED OIL [SUNFLOWER]
    • Sunflower oil from organic farming. A carrier oil with good skin-compatibility. Smooths and cares for the skin and hair.
  • ROSMARINUS OFFICINALIS LEAF EXTRACT [ROSEMARY]
    • Rosemary extract from organic farming. Has antioxidant and stimulating properties. Protects the skin. Its antioxidant effect also helps to prevent valuable vegetable oils from becoming rancid.
